insurance on a mk2 gti is more than a 1.8 turbo?

im 19 had my licence cince december.. dont have my own insurance.. what am i doing wrong?

A real 304bhp 286lbft in a mk4 golf!

your age is the first concern to insurance companys, in there eyes ur a high risk and second problem will be that you have only held a licence for 4 months odd therefore your also classed as a new driver , ya best bet wud be to try get a adult to insure you on there insurance  :smug: will save ya a few hundred quid

insurance on old cars is a joke, i was paying near 1300tpft on my old m535i and thats me 22 with 3yrs no claims. tt is prob a bit quicker, a lot dearer and is cheaper to insure fc

well i just got a call back from aidiern flux and they said insure the mk2 for 3000 as they could not get cover for cheaper than 4 lol haha

hmm yeh im guna haft to ask dadddy nicley lol its a sod being young haha

don't get a gti then, i'm going for a mk4 1.4 e, insurance will be £2,200, just wait a few years and get some driving experience behind you..

It would e hard to have a 1.4 when ALL of my mates have gtis non vag I have had enough at being at the back in the van allready lol  :sick:

Word of advice, if you're going to get a GTi or anything fast and you get your Dad to take out the insurance, and then you be a named driver (and using it the most), you'll be doing what's called as "fronting" and that is insurance invalidation.

In simple terms, you crash, insurance won't pay out.

If you can't afford to insure a faster car then don't, get something slower and just deal with it.
