Hi forum

So picked the car up today and have been trying to get it set up. I’m usually good with tech but found this quite hard going. Anyway, have a few quick question below hopefully you can help me with.

1) when setting the time to automatic updates and 24 hour clock, it still shows the time as a 12 hour clock and is an hour out.
2) Automatic wipers, I can see the switch to adjust the sensitivity, but cant find how to turn on auto wipers. Are they set to auto already?
3) appreciate that every time I get in I have to turn off lane assist, start stop and speed warnings, but do i have to set the driving mode every time? Want to keep it in individual.

And any other tips or ticks would be appreciated.

Can't keep it in individual always have to turn off lane speed warning sound and put in individual mode and turn stop/start off... Pain in the rear end tbh.

Not touched my clock tbh so can't help there as for wipers I believe if you go one up from "normal" position it turns on autos.
Have you found heated wing mirror button yet... Took me a while must admit

To be fair I’ve not looked for the heated wing mirrors so and advice would be appreciated. Took me a while to find the heated steering wheel button which was on the steering wheel

So basically the car starts in comfort mode each time then I assume. Proper pain but will get used to it I suppose

Also there is a button on the left side of the wheel that has a picture of a car and 3 lines under it. Is that sometto do with the front lidar sensor?

The lines are for the distance the car keeps from the car Infront  when in Cruise control.

The heated mirror is on the wing mirror adjustable knob turn to around 4 o'clock ( your see why it took me a while to find.)

Wipers - yes, you need to flick up the stalk to the first position and then they're in auto mode.

Yes, the car always starts in Comfort mode. I too find this a proper pain, even more than the lane assist/speed warning. This is a new thing in the 8.5. In my previous Clubsport (MK8), the car always stayed in my preferred "Individual" mode. Unless someone figures out how to change these things via OBD-11 or whatever (and apparently this may be nigh on impossible in these new cars), then we're stuck with this annoyance.

Heated mirrors - you have to rotate the knob on the door card to the "Heated" position. Don't leave it in this position though, there's been many cases in the MK7 where the mirror glass goes flying off unexpectedly, possibly due to the heater being left on a lot! To get the passenger side mirror to auto-dip in reverse you need to have the knob set to the passenger side adjustment position.

I know there is something in the settings for the clock too, my car's clock was set "funny" too on collection, also an hour out if I recall. I think there's a setting in there someplace to set it to "AUTO" and 24 HR mode.

If you hold down the start button for 2 secs then put foot on brake you get a louder start up from the exhaust... 'emotion' start i believe it is called.. get a few pops and bangs when it's warmed up and you start up again..
