i bought a mk2 16v 5door on a j plate ,that i thought was atlas grey but is in fact pearl grey for £300 in march 2010, found out it was originally a 8v loads of parts missing when i bought it but hey £300 and 8months mot and 8months tax ,spent this year having fun with it. replacing parts to be a proper 16v well then come late dec mot time i had a look round the car welded ft n/s jacking point as it seemed weak i couldnt find anything else wrong ie bulbs ,wipers etc , it failed on .ft subframe exessive corossion by wishbone and high emissions it did have a few advisorys but nothing bad .i welded subframe myself ,bought some injector cleaner and thrashed the car first thing this morning dont think the cleaner worked as mot tester seemed to be fiddling with my metering head but hey ho the cars now got the full 12 months mot and i cant stop smiling i will upload some pics soon now i now shes staying .just thought id share my good news .max
