Title: Making my mk 2 faster :P
Post by: 87_PROJECT on 13 May 2003, 12:39
Hi,

After this weekend...I want my golf to go a little faster!!(It was the 325i up my backside all the way to the campsite...I was going as fast as my little legs would carry me...and had him on the bends but straight line he was right up my arse...)

Ok so he had .7 more of a litre...

Im open to suggestions on reasonably cheap mods to get a little more straight  line speed from my mk2...

We tried the drilled airbox over the weekend (lets not go there eh:P:P:P

To be honest it did feel a little more responsive(and sounded really good)...

So are there any other suggestions???????????

Induction kit, exhaust system, chip, cams etc etc.

Thanks for the reply stoat....Obviously if money was no object i'd have all those things done!!...in fact if money was no object id go get a 911 turbo but thats beside the point :P

Where would you(or anyone else) reccommend starting...(with the golf not the 911!)...

Obviously an induction kit is not much help without a new exhaust to get the extra air out...

Would a new cam be a good start??

Does my old 87 8 valve even have a chip:P???

Many thanks for the guidance!!
