re: the immobiliser

I think this is the bit that gets most - did you have to use the clocks from the donor car?

luckily i got the engine from someone who already started colecting the bits, he gave up. ive spent approx £1600. inc paying my mate to do the electrics. not bad so far. i got all the parts and the wirings being done now.

no problem. i will keep an eye on here so questions welcome? another helpful tip is that if you use the mk4 downpipe with CAT? it will need to be modified to fit around the steering rack/bulkhead. i can get pics if anyone wants to see mine? cheers

how hard/easy do you reckon it would be if you had a whole donor car? do you need to change fuel pumps etc?

A list of what's been done would be great!

it would be great to have the doner car. also depends what car you have? (spec) ive changed;

sub-frame
fuel pump
driveshafts
lower arms
rear axel
wheels
accelerater pedal (FBW)
clutch cable
gearbox
gear selector
looms
ECU
radiator
slam panel
CAT downpipe
mounts
water tank
keys / ignition / clocks
hand brake cables
front brakes

i think thats it? thats based on a 1.4cl golf. i know your thinking why didnt i just buy one, but thats the easy way!
