mount looks right I think, mine looks more like this one its the same part number just a different revision

I dont know about a mk4 starter fitting onto an 02a but the mk4 tower definitely fits as I have one along with 02j shifter it all fits fine :)

Great info as always Dan - been reading loads of posts on club GTi and most of the ones on here and think I am getting to grips with what can/can't be swapped into the mk3 :)

Took your guidance and got the diesel box as I love the sound of the cruising speeds

If the mk4 starter doesnt work then that's just another part on my shopping list :D
