I was tempted to get a set of Prets or even Bola which Motech have been using but think these look perfect.

To be honest the car has hardly moved during lockdown so probably shouldn't even be thinking about getting a set but.... so tempting! :)

Have a look on my post about the T-Roc Pretorias or on my build thread, they're vastly cheaper than the golf Pretorias and have a 6mm lower ET so looks like you have spacers, but they're only £300ish cheaper than the BBS CI-R's.

I changed car during lockdown and have barely covered over 1,000 miles my man maths was I don't need a diesel when I'm doing little miles, and that I'm really just killing a GTD's dpf so I should just get a GTI.

Welcome, can't go wrong with a good set of BBS, I had BBS CI-R's on my old White Silver GTD and got many compliments about them or BBS SR are a cheaper lookalike to the CI-R's which many people go for across the groups.

Those look fantastic!

What size did you get and did you need spacers?

Wow those BBS alloys do look good! I am not usually a fan of black wheels (have considered them as have a black wrapped roof), but  these are probably the best I have seen

These are the wheels I am considering.... New from BBS, the BBS XR, which compared to other offerings from BBS appear a bargain as can be bought for just over £1000 for 19 inch wheels. They seem almost too good to be true.

Can't find a mk 7/7.5 wearing these, but I can imagine this style would look good!

They look good. I’m a big fan of BBS alloys.

The BBS website has a configurator so you can get an idea of what a certain design of BBS alloys look like on a specific car. Here’s a screenshot from the configurator of a white mk7.5 GTI with 19” silver BBS XR alloys;

Here you go XR 18in ET44. (Credit Microemetics on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/user/Microemetics/ )

Pity we didn't get more German/American Colour options for the UK cars, from memory Germany got 40 colours just for the R alone...

Also fixed my image so we don't all have to break our necks anymore, and added a few more of when I test fitted them on my GTI to see if I wanted to keep them.

Those Spectrum colours are mega expensive though (IMHO); it cost around $2,500 for a Spectrum colour when they were introduced a couple of years ago . I personally wouldn’t pay that for a paint colour, so of which might have limited appeal when the time comes to sell the car.

Hello, brand new to the community and hoping to share updates on my VW journeys. Have recently wrapped the roof on my pure white GTI 7.5 in gloss black (will post pictures soon!) and considering new alloys at the moment as have the (in my opinion) horrid 18'' parkers.

Looking to move back to 19'' wheels (had Santiagos on my Mk7 GTD) which are non diamond cut, and currently considering the BBS XR wheels. Has anyone got these or any other good  wheel suggestions? I don't want to spend silly amounts,  but want a classy looking alloy that is durable and silver/graphite.

Welcome, can't go wrong with a good set of BBS, I had BBS CI-R's on my old White Silver GTD and got many compliments about them or BBS SR are a cheaper lookalike to the CI-R's which many people go for across the groups.

Great choice wheels really look great!

Did they not have a run out toward the end of the mk7.5 where the prices were reduced to around €600-€1,200 colour dependant?

Yeah they do look a nice style and certainly suit the bodystyle. I would definitely go for the 19 inch and probably in silver (personal preference). Shame there isn't a wider range of colours though as graphite would look great in my opinion.

I do LOVE your wheels though! They really suit the car.

Looking at aftermarket wheels is making regret getting Pretorias now... You can't go wrong with any of the current BBS range for the Mk7 at the minute in my opinion. That being said the Vossen HF-2's look fantastic on the mk8 and I think they'd suit the mk7.5 really well as well, but they're too expensive for my liking.
