Welding sunroof up?
« on: 25 March 2012, 19:43 »
Hey all

Bin having problems with my sun roof leaking. Cleared the drain holes took the sun roof out and found a bit had rusted through on the back of it. Replaced that bit for a 2nd hand one and replaced the seal. Can't get it to go back proper think the deal is too thick. Manged to close it but it pinched the seal and it doesn't sit flush with my roof. Was thinking if it still leaks could I get it welded? If so do you think it would cost a lot?

Welding a roof is not easy, doubt it will be cheap tbh.

Have you tried adjusting the height of the sunroof?

How do I do that? It kind of sits higher one side and sinks the other.

Were they not different between early and late models? Could be you've got the incorrect sunroof if so?

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
