* Mk3 GTI Engine prob * - HELP!
« on: 09 August 2006, 10:38 »
Hello fellow mk3 owners!

Recently my car was running really sluggish and was only reving upto 5000rpm... so i had it put on the machine at a VW experts garage...

The report came back as - (Intake Air Temp Sensor Short circuit to positive and Hall Sender No Signal )

Ive changed the air intake sensor and it seems to be running alot better, but it still doesnt rev over 5000rpm...

Is this something to do with the HALL SENSOR..? where is this..? and does it need changing or does the relay need changing..? where is the correct relay..?

Thanks alot for any help..!

Cheers  :smiley:

More than likely the Hall effect sender, this is situated within the distributor. Two choices by the sender unit then take apart the distributor and fit or get a complete new distibutor block, not the cap.
