Title: Possibility On How To Make Infotainment Easier To Use
Post by: Brenbo on 03 May 2021, 09:52
I am unsure if some you have already worked this one out.  But there is a way of creating shortcut (widgets) to quickly access favourite options of the Infomtainment screen without having to navigate through multiple screens / with fewer presses of the screen.

If you are interested in trying it out watch the you tube link below:

Yeah the pull down. It's quite handy. I have stop start, esc and the hk setup on mine.

Since it's a multimedia infotainment system, you'd have thought that having a couple of tutorial videos installed by VW would have been possible.  Instead you've got to decipher the user manual.

You know there is a manual in the system itself?

Yes and it's only from a select list of functions, not just anything.

Do real people who drive on the public roads actually disengage ESC?
I’ve never switched it off. With so much power and the unpredictability of what’s coming the other way around the next bend is never risk it. Am I missing something?
Yeah I’ve played with VAQ settings in the past but actual safety aids I tend to leave alone.

Mind you I’m one of those people who doesn’t mind stop start either.
It’s not perfect but saves belching out fumes whilst stationary (most of the time).

I've tried ESC on "Sport" before... you can definitely start to figure out what ESC does for you.

Given that VDM works by using ESC, DCC and the VAQ... that beautiful body control and flat handling does start to go away when you turn ESC down or off...

But I'm sure the purists want it off, so their Senna/God like motorsport skillz can shine on the way to the chip shop at road legal speeds

The main reason I added it to the short cut was a) to prove the nobs on youtube were making a fuss about how difficult it was to press the button b) for that moment when I test out launch control (you have to do it once right?)

Stop start, pretty much the same. I don't bother turning it off.... although I think with the Chicken Nugget in S mode, its disabled anyway.

I’ve still not tried launch control yet. God I’m boring.
