dizzy problem i think

had any body around taunton got a spare 1.8 8v carb dizzy I can borrow or even I,l come to to you and try your, got a miss fire checked every thing else, my dizzy has some play in the centre so just want to check

the dizzy itself has play?  :shocked:

axial (can you turn a short distance before you get resistance) or radial play (does shaft wobble - i.e. move in the horizontal plane)?

yea there,s play in the shaft, side to side, when you turn the shaft it seams a bit stiff

never had that kind of play in any of my dizzys :O

can you take the cap and finger off and make photos pushing it in either direction so we can see how much play's in there?

its fairly normal that you cant rotate it though..... after all its connected to an intermediary shaft thats connected to the crankshaft via cambelt....... if you could rotate it rather easily that'd be worrysome!
