Evening all.

Progress has been made but I can't take the credit for the work sadly.

I've been meaning to get round to this for a while but after discussing it with my mate Ron I decided to leave it in his capable hands just for the speed he can do it. Also he's the man for the wiring so why not leave him to understand it all.

If you haven't guessed by now im talking about swapping out the R32 lump and all that's needed for the conversion and refit all the VR6 stuff I have to make the silver car complete again and ready to sell on.

In typical Ron fashion this hasn't taken long but it doesn't mean there hasn't been a few complications.

So first things first R32 and all the bits to go with it need to come out and put in the temporary home of the mock up bay.

Before:

After:

I cleaned, painted and serviced the VR before it went in

So now to fill that gap.

And both in there new homes:

So only a little bit more to do to the silver car and job done.

Buying this car has been one of my best purchases. It's got everything. Finding more cool bits as we go.

Still going to be a sweet car when I sell it so keep an eye out for a add soon.

So that's where I'm upto at the mo. just a couple bits still to do and the silver car will be finished.

Even tho this isn't work on the brown car directly it is a big step towards the build. Now that the lump is in the mock up bay we can start looking into extending the loom etc and work out where we can hide it and other things. This way once the shell of the brown car is painted and engine smoothed it will be a refit rather than having to work out as we go on fresh paint.

More soon.

Evening all.

I decided instead of spending today lounging around and sleeping before my 12hr night shift I'd work on the brown mk3. Thanks to mum having a couple of rooms spare at her house I've decided to fill one of them up this weekend with interior parts. Some serious dirty work to be done on the mk3 soon and with my unit only being a old shed type thing I thought it would be best to keep it somewhere dry an moist free.

So with that planned for the weekend I needed it all out and that's what I've achieved today.

Before (minus seats n door cards)

First thing was to remove the air install. This was pretty simple thankfully

Nice plug and play.

Then carried on removing all that was needed. Got upto taking the heater system out which will be next.

And lastly my freebie from the silver mk3. Still not 100% sure there what I'm after so undecided wether I will run this interior or sell it on. We shall see.

So next is to finish striping the interior out.

Originally I planned for a inside, outside and underneath colour change but I've decided not to bother painting the interior. 1 nothing gets seen and 2 I've decided im going to sound deaden it all. (Thanks to scaff ;)) this also makes it a little easier as I can leave a large amount of the loom in place.

Lastly I was proper chuffed removing everything to find a mint, unwelded floor. That's surely a massive bonus with a mk3. Oh and I found £10 in change under the carpet lol

Until next time

Cheers dude

Yeah where done by Surrey trimming. Very nice job. The lad who owned the silver car before hadn't had them done long. Not even a single crease or mark on them.

So you're un-doing all the hardwork someone put into the Mk3 to strip it of the engine and interior and put it in your Mk2.
The guy will weep when he sees this

Yup. But although the company he paid put the hard work in but it wasn't all that good. Will be a dam site better off in my car. Besides wouldn't you do the same!!!!

Anyway could have been worse, could strip the rest for parts but instead it will still turn out a nice affordable car for someone. Besides its not as if crap stuff has gone back in. Cleaned, painted and serviced VR and gti recaro interior. I'd still be happy to buy that!!!!
