if you already have a matched key and transponder box then vag-com can match another ecu to your car without needing the SKC. dont need vag tacho or commander to do that.

you don't need to log in to reset the adaption?

You need to re-adapt, and VAG-com/VCDS is just fine.
You go into the engine ECU coding, and immobiliser coding in turn, read, adapt, save (I think that's the terms).

I've had 3 different immobiliser ECUs in my car and adapted each time using VAG-com/VCDS.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

topher, you say you're near the midlands, where abouts? would be useful to know just for future reference if you are able to reprogramme. cheers

http://www.camcoautomotive.com/ecu.html

what do you think of this CAMCO may be able to repair the ECU, the exact fault is a G71 Map sensor????

i have you still got the ECU? I've checked the code on mine and the VW is the same but the Siemens code is different mine has 5WP4 - 237, do you know if it makes a difference.

I'll speak with the local ECU specialist and also ask them.

Please let me know if you still have it and i'll get back to you, tomorrow.

Cheers
