« on: 12 July 2025, 11:16 »
hi to all, Having recently bought a 7.5pp, I'm still finding out all of it's bells and whistles, after sorting out the boot I've found that removing the spare wheel and tools complete ball acre, the trim just inside the boot stops the wheel being lifted out you can't even lift of the top part of the tool storage, I have searched for an answer without success, anyone else come across problem and is there an alternative. apology's if already covered.

Have you unscrewed the large plastic bit in the middle?

Yep, did that also took out the spindle, then you have to push the wheel towards
the front of the car and tilt the wheel  up away from you to clear the inside trim.
It may sound trivial but it seems a really piss poor design.

If it's anything like the Polo's then I find it best to pull the tyre towards you and then lift the furthest edge up and out - so the opposite to what you would expect to do.

Found that out trying to lever out a full size spare from my wife's Polo, hopefully it's slight easier with a space-saver in the Golf.

A design feature that, hopefully, you’ll rarely need. Don’t fret over it and enjoy the car👍
