Something was wrong with the coolingsystem, I suspected it was the thermostat as the bottom of the radiator didn't get really warm. The fans didn't kick in aswell, it got worse and worse to the point where I had to do something:

so I orderd a new thermostat with a lower temp setting(80°C vs 87°C), when taking this apart and testing the old thermostat it became clear that i didn't fully opened. So I replaced the thermostat with the newer, colder type (bit of a pita because of PAS pump). New G12 coolant was added and voila, result:

perfect.:)

Good work and all,

I'm just jealous of that MPG    50 miles has hardly dented your fuel
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

trial fit for the undertray, I didn't fit. It hits the PAS pump and wiechers brace.

So I orderd a seat toledo undertray.

fits nice underneath a mk2

Since I can't find the correct sensor, I wired the secundairy waterpump to a switch in the dash.

I heard these fit, which model Toledo is it and do you have to do much to get it to fit?

Thanks

it's of a 1996 model, you have to cut of the leading edge, haven't fitted mine yet.

replaced the battery today, the new one has more capacity and higher coldstartcurrent while being lower so the IC cover could fit. I also took the time to straighten, clean and regrease the batteryconnectors,  and modify the cover that came with the battery.

almost done, pretty proud of this:
