I've give my mats a nice coating of chemical guys fabric guard to hopefully keep them from spoiling and make them easier to clean but I too will use the original non GTI mats over the winter then the GTI mats when the weathers right

Just returned from AKS after having the map tweaked a bit,got rid of the linear throttle(stock is better for everyday use),and had the stage1 Revo DSG software installed.
 DSG map has made the car,miles better now, smoother quicker changes and the jerky nature of the latest VAG software has been removed and that's just in D mode,makes some barky noises in manual/S mode aswell.

After a 45 mile journey home,of which the last 22 miles were on my usual journey home from work roads I can honestly say I could live without the engine map but NOT the gearbox map.

Brakes next and some suspension lightening (Brembo's,S3 hubs and arms etc.)  watch this space..... with some piccys aswell :cool:

Oooo brembos! Would that be the boxster 4 pot calliper by any chance?

I did that about 25 years ago, but was only a couple of hundred yard from home, so pushed it. There was enough in the mowers can to get me to the petrol station, so no great shakes.

I've play roulette with the Passat. Once having gone 40 miles past 0 miles left to empty, only to fill up and find I still had 5 litres to spare.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Bit of maintainence today, I removed and checked my DV that I fitted 10k  miles ago, still look brand new.

Also decided to Seafoam the car as I will be changing my oil this week. Has the can of it for a few months, was a bit nervous doing but it defo seems to have made the idle a bit smoother and maybe felt about 5% stronger on WOT pulls.

I followed this video if anyone is interested;

It'll be MOT time before you know it. They seem to grow up so quickly these days.

 :grin:

It'll be gone before MOT time.  Kicked out into the big bad world to fend for itself.

The thought of someone putting it through a car wash makes me shudder  :sick:
