Hoping someone could enlighten me on this.

My 2018 GTD had a completely frameless edgeless mirror, but my 2019 GTI has a slight plastic rim to it. There's no additional sensors so was there 3 versions of mirrors in the golfs? Pre-facelift, Facelift edgeless and Facelift slight edge?
