Beta head unit - lights on, nobody's home
« on: 10 October 2007, 22:39 »
Hi all,

Just got a second hand beta head unit to go in my mk2 GTi.   It has an ISO plug already in from when I rewired the speaker cables, so connecting it was a doddle.

However the unit doesn't seem to want to turn on.  I'm pressing the volume control inwards.  Is this correct? When I put the car's lights on, the pink red surround lights in the radio light up.   And the red LED on it flashes with the ignition off.

Could this be something to do with the security on it? (it didn't come with a code -figured I'd use one of the many cheap radio code websites)   Or could it be because the unit is crocked?

Thanks

Nik
