Title: Mk1 GTI 1983 Campaign model
Post by: clarges37 on 02 February 2014, 18:26
Am thinking of selling a genuine one owner (same owner from new), 33,000 mile, Mk1 GTI campaign, silver (original paint) recent MOT with no advisories, garaged for last 20 plus years. Runs well with smooth gear changes, recently serviced
Any ideas what i should be asking for this car. I want to be fair but also not give it away (and where should i advertise it?)
thanks for any opinions - not arranging any viewings just yet.

I'v seen 4* classics adverts but the 25K car is optimistic - not sold for quite a while. What would be a more realistic figure?

Probably a small fortune! Depends how long you are able to wait on a sale. 4starclassics have had a couple recently for major money. In fact they currently have a one owner, 16k mile for....... 25 large! This your car or are you handling it for someone else?

Think this guy must have made a mistake with the price

I understand offers around 20K are happening. Not what i want for mine just a fair price for a one owner low mileage (33K) car in original condition

I am interested in purchasing if you are interested in selling.
I, too would want to pay a fair price, so happy to discuss further. Please email me.

Thanks

Simon

It sounds like a unique beast, find something similar as a guide price. Send it for a £200 valet and find someone to take some proper photos and do it justice and slam it online with room to haggle.

I would say thats possible if you get the right buyer as ive seen fully restored ones fetch 10k but its all down to the real condition imo. The market does seem to go up and down alot. Normally goes bonkers  just after the launch of a new model GTI too.

I plan to sell this car in next month or so. It is a one owner Mk1 campaign (silver), runs well, recently serviced, only 33000 miles genuine. Been garaged throughout. Serious offers considered. Can email photos.
