Something I've considered too. I'd probably copy how its done on the Edition 45, where the spoiler is left body colour apart from the existing gloss black bit on it.

I made an aluminium insert today for the bit above the phone charger as I hate the Golf lettering that’s there. Spraying it at the mo then applying a decal. I’ll post some pictures when I’m done if anyones interested.

Yes please do post I would like to see it. I recently bought something similar from Marvpart.de, made specifically for the Mk 8 GTI which was an aluminium plate covered in black alcantara,  with red Gti lettering. They are the people who make the aluminium door inserts which were really good. The dash part was ill fitting and poor quality. It’s not going on. Good luck with yours I agree it is an area that could be GTI specific not Golf.

It was that part that inspired me but I didn’t fancy paying that price. In all its cost £20 and I could easily make 10 more with the aluminium I’ve got left. The unpainted insert I made fits perfectly and I’m certainly not a professional!

Looks good. From the angle it sits I may have to go to my garage, look for the one I bought and try refitting it.🤦🏻
