Classical a
« on: 17 March 2008, 18:55 »
Does anyone know if the Mk1 gti cab is considered as a classic car in the eyes of insurance companies?

Also what are the usual conditions for the insurance?

As i understand you need to be 21 +?
and drive less then 5000 miles a year?

Are there any other restrictions? such as a necessary amount of driving experience?

Any help would be great

Thanks

yeah most mk1's are now old enough to qualify for classic now. The conditions often vary depending on the underwriter but usually for classic with us you need to be:

-19 or older
-driving at least one year (but can be more on gtis etc)
-limited miles (under 7500k)
-ideally a 2nd vehicle, we can quote classics if they are your only car but it often works out more

they are the main ones that i can think of for now.....
