Title: Mk4 be golf tdi issue !!

Hi all. I have had a loud noise as a result of air blowing back into the air intake box that increases with volume as I accelerate. It’s very loud. A little Black smoke comes out as I accelerate and power is lost until the turbo kicks in. Someone mentioned that I need to delete the egr as the balloon valve was an issue. I have done this and the problem remains. Can anyone please help. I can’t really afford to put it in the garage and if rather sort it myself after the amount of time I’ve put into getting this sorted.

sounds more like worn camshaft/lifters. can you post a video?
