Ok so now i have a 1.8T AUM V-2000 Golf which is now going to get the treatment but before i do anything i want to tap peoples knowledge. Now i have modified cars in the past and know my stuff but i always ask the same questions first. Now many people fit parts and do remaps etc but can the car actually take it and still be reliable? My stage one is a new exhaust, remap, filter upgrade, battery, re-circ valve and better tyres.
What else would be reccommended to keep it reliable but extract extra ponies??
Oh and are there any performance stats on here for my model???

right, your car will more than likely be running a K03s turbo
So mods list to get more power would be as follows
Full exhaust system with either 3 inch downpipe n sports cat or De-cat
Pipercross Panel filter
Forge Silicone Turbo intake pipe
Good service using genuine VW parts
Throttle Body Clean and reset
Forge 007p re-circ valve
and then R-Tech Remap
Optional extras
Forge Boost Pipes
Good Boost Gauge
The above should give figures of around 220 -230bhp depending on how healthy the engine is. This is very reliable power and still drivable. Give R-Tech a call as they will be able to sort you out and give you a real big grin once done.

Still the same mods as above though, but power will be around the 190bhp mark Or if you have a spare £250ish then get a genuine K03s turbo thats in good condition without any cracks, then spend about £100 on gaskets, nuts, bolts, oil, filter and coolant. Speak with the lads at R-Tech about fitting along with the same mods and you could see the 220bhp mark easily.
