Did you have LED matrix headlights on your A3? If so, then maybe LED matrix headlamps on Audis are ‘‘intelligent’ enough to auto dim or switch off the DRL LED’s when the car’s sensors detect oncoming vehicles approaching, but at all other times they’re at full intensity (e.g. during daylight or at night time when there’s no approaching traffic).
If they do work this way, then you’re unlikely to be aware the DRL’s are doing this from the driver’s seat.
