I have a 2014 dsg Golf GTI stage 1 map, I’ve got a fault code P271100 unexpected mechanical gear disengagement, the car will reverse and drive in gears 1/2 fine and sometimes goes into 3rd but usually faults out. my dad who’s pretty handy with cars has taken off the mechatronics and continuity tested it all and everything’s reading fine, we originally thought it might be the speed sensor but it didn’t actually have one in the first place. We’ve put it all back together with new oil and filters and the cars still having the same issue faulting out around 3rd gear and going into limp mode. does anyone know what else it could be it’s really got us stumped!
