Warbys mk4 4mo
« on: 02 March 2009, 22:39 »
Im stuck with the old girl for a few years so she's going to get some love, unlike my mk3.

Late november 2008,  2002 v6 4motion 5dr 62000miles on santa monica's with dvd player and screens in the headrests, blaupunkt casablanca head unit, and must have upgrade speakers as OE ones cant make that much noise and obviously the tints.

Since taking these pictures she has had brake calipers painted yellow, front VW badge painted black then chavved, so bought one from awesome and glued the bugger in.

Pics will follow when i clean her up.

Next job, tailgate, badge recess smoothing, model badges removed, she's going in on wed 11th march for this.

Then:
70000 mile service (only 1400 to go)
Remap
Bumpers smoothing (remove bump strips and door strips too as theyre stuck on)
Improve handling, ARB's Haldex controller etc.
Improve brakes (cooked em on the mountain again)
Will be building custom cat back straight through for TT this year, just for the noise then its back to standard as i do a lot of miles and that level of noise would hurt.

After that the wallet will be squeaking so only little bits for a while.

Ummm, what's wrong with the OE spec Haldex controller?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Want the supposed better one which utilises the rear wheels more, but since this morning when i f()cked my santa's up on an ice patch and a kerb. not a lot of this will be happening very quickly.

I think awesome do the 'uprated haldex controller', please refer to that site for the info.  It was a way down the list and at this moment sits behind every thing in the queue.

Quick update.

Rear badge had to be re-attached as the trials bike went poof the other day, new engine please

So i painted it black then my mate Sam touched in the voids yellow, then also did the 6 & 4 on the V6 4mo bit. Also now done the 6 in the engine bay.  I appreciate most of you will not like this but i do

Then i had a few scratches on the o/s front wing and bonnet that Sam 2000 wet papered then buffed up with g3.

We then waxed her up quickly:

Bit shinier now.

Gave her the 70k service, new Q8 excel oil, fitted my k&n panel filter too. Waitin on Nology Silver plugs coming.

Quick wash off.

Also as im cheap, i was having a lot of trouble with water getting on the alternator belt, so i made one from an old 5gallon drum at work, it only covers the pulleys but is helping so far.

You say you want to remove the bump strips and side strips as 'they're only stuck on'? they do leave holes!

Thanks, i was going to de badge her then other things needed monies spending, i had some caliper paint left and my mate is patient enough to sit down to it.  It has got a lot of attention over here too

Did the one in the engine bay too, looks ace.

Next jobs, flat out scratches from ragging it around the gravel yard  :embarassed: machine polish, spend more time and effort on the stripped out caged up Mk2 track project that me and my mate have.

Nothing much to report, bit strapped at the mo.

Thinking of losing the DVD player and head rest screens as i dont use them, and get a double din DVD / nav deeley.

The mk2 is getting more attention as we can do more on the cheap.

Also on the look for some new style RS-4s, they will be white
