Hi guys
I was looking into what options there are to get the later GTI style headlights with the LED DRLs
I have found this:
http://www.hzperformance.com/index.php/body-kits/vw/golf/mk6/vw-golf-mk6-projector-led-headlights-352.html
Has anyone bought these before? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Considered mk7 style? Not everyone's cup of tea but I love them

Don't fall out the chair when you see how much they are....
https://www.autolampen.nl/en/tags/golf6-xenon/
They are right hand traffic though I would guess. I would be careful when ordering them, make sure they have the 'e' mark, otherwise not roadworthy.
-
these look great for £330 but what type of bulbs do they take and are they just plug in and play ?
i would be interested in getting for my gti to replace those standard halogen ones :smug:
-
Looks like they are modelled on the MK7 R double DRL design.
Translation
These headlights fit in every wave 6 and have the following specifications: Bi Xenon lighting LED daytime running lights and LED city lights 70% more light 40% whiter light Full plug and play, no further adjustments
Xenarc as seen the pics on https://www.autolampen.nl/en/tags/golf6-xenon/ is Osram's HID bulb brand name, so I assume these units are true HID.
More pics and video (warning : disable sound) note moving indicators just like the MK7.5

E-keurmerk en TUV gekeurd = I guess this means they have an E mark?
Coming in May!

Better static video (note you can press a button(?) and switch from moving indicators to tradition flashing!

More importantly, at the end they claim no washers or levelers required, how is this possible?
Installation, what are the red wires for?

Comparison, the lhs/rhs dazzle cut would have to be changed for UK roads?

Washers and leverlers are required when cars leave the factory with xenon lights. They are tested as part of the MOT and must be working. If they are not fitted, they cannot be tested. If the tester is happy with the beam pattern and colour of the lights, then he may pass them.
-
They are a requirement for Xenons with 35W, factory fitted or not! There is a limit on what light intensity requires them... for that reason Osram offer 25W ones for retrofit - they don't require auto levelling and washers.
I would assume if they have 'e' mark and it does not say they need AL/W they will be supplied with 25W Xenon burners (and were tested for use with these)....
These 25W are designed not to dazzle other road users (as much), however they will still need to be fitted to headlights that are meant to be used with Xenons, i.e. not Halogen headlights.
-
Thanks, I didnt know that!

Interestingly, I have just bought an Amarok with factory xenons. That has neither washers or auto leveling. I asked the dealer about this, and apparently commercial vehicles don't need them. That seems a bit odd considering the height of the lights would be more prone to dazzling.

Just posted a new thread. I have been in contact with a reseller in Germany and he said the headlights will be available for RHD sometime in September. Also he will be the first one!

Curious about these lights. Now that Xenonzuk have stopped producing theirs, is there another manufacturer/seller of replica MK6 xenons that people have any experience with? I know that Xenonzuk ones were well regarded in terms of quality and light output/beam pattern.
-
I would think these are better compared to the Xenonzuk versions as they are made by Osram themselves.
Don't Osram make headlights for many OEMs? The only difference between the MK6 factory lights are these ones contain a smaller bulb (25W) to get round the washer/level regulations.

Sorry, I was referencing the Mk6 style lights in the first post. I'm not keen on the Mk7 style headlights tbh.
