naff wheels but looks good other than that

I take it it's carb'd being a GT2, if so is it webber converted or the OE peirburg crap?

my old GT2 flew on the webber carb :afro:

oh and insurance is pretty cheap on these

I can get you a WEBBER if you need one ian for very cheap. Now... coilovers and wheels. Bish bash bosh job done. There are a few little jobs that you are 'meant' to do to rocco's straight away. Ask Ash cos I think he has done most of them. For a start the rocco wipers are the most horrendous creations ever, swap to bosch aeros and your laughing. They also have the classic headlight problem which will be fixed with new loom. Check where the clutch cable goes though the bulkhead as this is prone to rust and bend when the clutch is pressed in and the brakes are hyper wank.

my GT2 on webber carb was as quick as my old mk2 8v GTI digi

You must be a young'un if you're insurance is that high!

Other than a drop and some nice wheels, I like roccos with a single pair of lamps (and matching badgeless grill), tinted or clear indicators, and tinted rear lights. I see the front fogs have already been removed :afro:

yer i am only 20 and havn't been driving a full year yet so that explains the insurance...

and i was planning on removing the front fogs but then when it came to piking it up the fogs dint come with the car so that saved me a job....

i've got some coilies i'm picking up on friday fingers crossed and the wheels are going as soon as . fox racing wheels on a rocco is just not cool but they have good tyres for mot time atleast....

i took it for a little spin when i got it home and it pulls really well from low revs but couldn't open it up properly in my estate :(

It is effectively a MK1 golf, a lot of the parts are from the mk1 and need modifying just enough to be annoying!

thanks chris and the dog is awsome...

today i thaught i would sort out them awfull wheels and as i dont have enough money to buy some new alloys at the moment, so i thaught i would try out painting my current alloys.. so here is the outcome....

there not awsome wheels i no but i think i can live with them now they look a bit better in white
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: mk2 helper on 30 April 2011, 00:25
scrapped the idea of keeping the wheels now ther painted as they rubbed really badly on the shocks even with 10mm apacers and no camber so i've changed them for some bbs alloys wich fit beautifully and suit the car nicely..

also today i have unseized the coilovers and lowered the front end a bit more and evend it out...

got the rear a bit lower now but i idealy need some coilovers for the rear so i can sort it properly.....

got a new backbox for her and it fits nicely and sounds sweet so happy days for that aswell.

pictures tommorow :)

sad face  rocco brokend but all will be forgotten on saturday with new pumps :)
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: mk2 helper on 16 May 2011, 02:32
seems i had forgotten to update my thread and a fair amount has happened in the past week or so...

firstly got a fuel pump donated by martin i popped that on and jobs a good'n seems the diaphram had gone on my pump so back on the road :)..

also got some cool pics of the rocco after fixing it.

then i piked up some nerly new reclining bucket seats that were given to me by a friend and started on fitting them..
but as i only had one seat harness i was only able to fit 1 of them so now i'm rocking around with one bucket seat and one standard untill i have a set of harnesses..

but the pictures were taken with the other bucket seat placed in there as if it is all fitted properly :)

then i had to strip out the rear of the car to suit the look and save what weight i can wich caused problems as to were i can put my vibe slicks so i decided to mount them upside down in the bak above the standard 6x4 speaker holes and it turned out okay...

also fitted some new clocks (kindly donated to me by liam ) as none of the warning lights worked on mine soi fitted them to find i had the same problem wit the new clocks but noticed a split in the curcuit board on the back of the clocks so 2 pieces of wire and some carefull soldering later and the job was done and i now have a set of working clocks....

next job is to fit a newer ( working ) brake servo donated to me by dave from his old gti wich will sort out the brakes and shoud make the rocco passable for its mot thats due in 2 weeks time
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2

Title: Re: my scirocco gt2 ( mot time :/ )
Post by: mk2 helper on 26 May 2011, 23:49
so the rocco is off the road again due to the lack of an mot that ran out last saturday :(

but however this did give me time to sort out a few little jobs that have been bugging me so started on them.....

first job on the list was to get rid of the old alarm that didn't work and was making my bay look a mess so i removed the alarm box and traced the wiring back to a point in wih i could cut it off and remove the loom from my bay..
this gave me loads more room and made things look much better and less crammed in.

then i decided to fit the k&n air filter that was given to me by lemski so i got that fitted on to get rid of the massive space waisting air box then decided to paint up my rocker cover to give it a frsh look.

also moved a few wires about and re-routed fuel lines and cables to tidy up the bay and this was the outcome...

then as i cant drive the car i thaught there is no better time than now to take off the carb and give it a good strip down and clean out so i removd the carb from the manifold and took it to the shed so i could do the job properly without the risk of loosing bits..

this is how the carb looked when i took it off...

then the strip down commenced so i started taking the carb apart keeping evrything in order and in a safe place untill it was fully apart.

then i got a tub and half filled it with old petrol , got an old tooth brush and started cleaning all the individual parts
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/Photo0377.jpg)

whilst going through the cleaning process i only came across 2 problems.. one of which was two small jets were slightly blocked and thus restricting fuel flow so i took a peice of wire from a wire brush and cleared them out..

then the second problem was that i wasn't getting ful throttle as the throttle mech was fouling the chocke mech with the throttle fully open so i adjusted that and then all was sorted....

and some pics of the finished item all cleaned up and ready to go back on...

Title: Re: my scirocco gt2 ( mot test fail :/ )
Post by: mk2 helper on 26 May 2011, 23:56
so i took the rocco in for its mot today and sad to report it failed but it failed on things i thaught were fine and evrything i expected it to fail on got passed...

however it only failed on 1 ball joint, 1 c.v boot, a seat runner rubber and a tiny patch of rust that needs repairing around my front jacking point...

so in all quite happy with the outcome considering what i paid for the car.

i allready have a cv boot waiting to go on and i can get some seat rubbers without a problem so i only need to buy a ball joint then weld up around the jacking point and job's a gud'n.

updates on tommorow's work to come though as i may be hopefully starting a grille idea that has been thaught of so gunna give that a try in the morning

yeh as i've bleeted on about time and time again, my old GT2 with weber carb went like stink
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: lemski on 27 May 2011, 18:07
I would say its quicker than a standard 8v gti
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2

I would say its quicker than a standard 8v gti

tbh mine felt as fast as my old 8v gti, even though in standard form they have 90bhp compared to 112bhp in the golf. I'm guessing the rocco is a bit lighter plus the weber carb sh!ts all over the pierburg original one.
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: lemski on 27 May 2011, 18:23
I would say the rocco is a bit more streamline with its low roof. There nice but I preferre my golf.
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: mk2 helper on 27 May 2011, 23:17
got the cv boot and seat rubbers done today now all thats needed is the ball joint wich will be here tomorow then weld wich is tommorow...

and chris it definatey sounds allot more throatier but i hav'nt had a chance to see if its any quicker yet as i had a fuel problem yesterday so couldn't open it up without it dying......

also fitted a swirl pot today wich has help allot as my fuelproperly primes now and the air has gone from the filter aswell as now i have a fuel return my pump isn't having to struggle and force fuel thru my carb when its not needed
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2
Post by: mk2 helper on 30 May 2011, 14:34
got my new ball joint fitted wich was a pain in the ars as it was rivitted on so had to get out the grinder and sort that out and my new one is now fitted with bolts so thats now sorted...

seats fixed, c.v boot fixed but unfortunately i didn't have enuf time to get the welding done and be at the test station before it closed so still not mot for me :(...

however its gave me the time to get the welding done without a rush job so happy about that but because of it being a bank holiday weekend i can't get in for a re-test untill i'm back at home from work on friday.....

so all being well and if there is no more complications i will be back on the road friday and ready in time for a day at skegvagus
Title: Re: my scirocco gt2

right its been a long while since i've posted on here so think an update is in order....

since i got an autoglym polish sample as was well chuffed with it i went out and got some car care stuff and sepnt a small fortune and got all i need and set at it one saturday with a clay bar and polish and wax and lots of time spent but the outcome was much worth it...

then the time came to sort out my stance as having that much rake and un-even camber wasn't doing the handling of my car any good and it dint look too awsome either..  sooooo i got straight on ebay and baught a nice new 'full' set of coilovers  and got them fitted with the assistance of martin and his compressor :) and sorted out the camber...
also chucked in a set of 10mm spacers all round to ad more stance and get the front wheels off the coilover springs and the result was.....

after fitting the coilovers my handling was instantly improved of course and was feeling much more stable at speed wich is nice and then i thaught i'de spend some of then paypal money's on a few stickers to add a bit of personality to the car so i got these..

but after all this ther was still a missing link wich was my faded and dull spoiler wich was letting the car down so i went to my nearest motor stor and found some trim wax wich they said would do the job perfect so i baught some and this was the outcome...
you can see the difference instantly...

and 2 weeks later its still lookiing nice and fresh we shall see how long it lasts before needing another treatment
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/DSC_0087.jpg)

and a few weeks passed with no issues besides a wheel wobble from the shocking spacers untill my travel back to grimsby after work in louth and s**t t the fan when my clutch went on a busy crossroads at the front of the cue when the lights went green so i managed to finaly get my car home and look at what it was to find a nice hole and split in the bulkhead were my clutch cable used to be :(
wich now looks like this.

also thaught i'd add in a picture that dave took without me knowing when leaving to maccy's from one of our BCD meets cuz i think it looks awsome

thanks rich and i think there beautifull cars aswell and i saw a white one in grimsby a few months back and it was awsome..

and to drive i love it its really forgiving and easy to drive verry comfortable ( unless you go too low on the coilovers and dont adjust the bump stops :/ ) but there is a problem caused from the low roof line wich means if ur anywere near 6ft tall ur head will become part of the roof lining but i fitted some reclining bucket seats and now theres loads of head room....

i think you should get one as i dont see enuf about tbh

yer he picture taken wasn't quite when i finished as i did remove all sound proofing so the risk is lessened and tbh i dont intend on putting it back in anyways only the front carpet is going in as sound proofing weighs too much for my liking

Shame about the clutch cable eating your car, I though it was only MK1 golfs that did that!... My last one did, put the extra repair piece in this one before it had a chance to do it!

Post by: mk2 helper on 26 September 2011, 15:32
well i've done it again and not updated my thread for ages like usual and suprise suprise its gunna be another update including the work done due to yet another break down but this one being on a lager scale so here goes .....

well since i sorted out the clutch cable eating my bulkhead situation my car had been fine for a good 3 weeks ... them 3 weeks in wich i was using my car for dragging work equiptment about as my boss was on holiday and it had a pronound effect on many things and braught on a brake down ....

so to cut a long story short i was home to grimsby from louth 3 maybe 4 weeks after fixing the last problem and my clutch went slipping like mad with no adjustment left on the cable to a limped my car home the 18 miles that were ahead of me. luckily for me though a good freind martin had a spare clutch i could have so he donated it to me with a spare gearbox he had wich would then put my engine back on the box it should have in it so we set to work getting it sorted....

so here goes with some pictures ... starting with the donated clutch and gearbox removed from martins old engine...

then the driveshafts disconected and suspention half removed for later bumpstop adjustments
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/driveshaftsoff.jpg)

and gearbox supported ready for final removal
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/startofgearboxremoval.jpg)

and the gearbox is out and new clutch assembly fitted :)

then randon and probably not relevant but a wasp claimed martins drink so thaught y not take a picture
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/thewaspthatclaimedmartinsdrink.jpg)

then after getting the new box in and set up we then had to tackle my completely shot bushes and i dint see any point in replacing with sh!tty standard bushes so i baught myself a full set of pollybushes and set to fitting them..

then the time came to 'adjust' my bumpstops and roll my arches so i could go lower and after the rolling but before the lowering i tried on martins 13's to see what they look like on my car and i do rather like them allot and a quick picture...

then a picture of the massive arch gap i have after lowering another 20mm and putting my wheels back on ...

and another lowered pic cuz i like it :)

then before going for a test drive to make sure verything is good my wheel bearing locked up sollid and i thaught it was f**ked so baught a set of bearings and set to changing them..

but on removal of the hub my bearing was fine it was the circlip that had came loose and the bearing worked its self out of the hub and pulled everything tight so we fixed that and back on the road i was again :)

all up untill about 3/4 hours later when i broke down again with carburettor issues and had no choice but to push my car in a random estate in grimsby and leave it there over night :/
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/andmebreakingdownagainatnightonlyafew3hoursafterfixingthelastproblems.jpg)

but got my car back the next day cleaned out my carb and all is well again ....FOR NOW

gunna take advantage of it being off the road and get everything painted up and refurbed

tbh lem i've had to raise the front by 10mm to pic it up off the floor and as it is now its just drivable as it hits the floor going thru town so cant possibly go lower now

The Mirror Sticker!

Do us a favour, next time you take a shot of your car, do one of just the drivers side from low down (does that make sense?)  bet it will look ace and i just wanna see it.

did u mean something like this...

and i verry liked ur idea though good outcome imo

or this
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P171011_1654.jpg)
or that
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P171011_1654_01.jpg)

and it would look better if i had some bigger spacers on the rear but i darn't go bigger than 13mm on normal spacers so its stuck like that untill i get some hubcentric 20mm :)

quick little update...

money not being good at this moment in time i've been thinking and looking for a cheap enough way of getting the rocco's engine sorted and i've now sourced a good cylinder head to replace mine wy nakered one with and to go with that i've just made a bargain dirt cheap deal on a mk3 gti 8v engine so i'll be getting a nice 2 litre bottom end to go with it...

so next month the engines getting a rebuild and i'll be back on the road in no time :)

another update with bad news....

the rocco has died after squeezing every last mile out of the overheated engine

and now it looks like this with a portal to another world that has openned up between my cylinder head and engine block

i'de love to thanks for offering to donate me a bam engine :)

would like to do it but money permits and need the car back asap as its my daily driver and i need it for my 36 mile commute to work so a rebuild is in order with some extra power but not the ideal conversion i'de like to do

got myself a simple 2 litre bottom end and going to port an 8v cyliner head and bang it all together back on my webber unless i get my arse into gear and slap on the bike carbs ....

well the rocco has had her last run this year with her 1.8 8v heart and is having her suspension raised in the morning to get her sitting comfortably on my driveway

had a good run to lincoln for a meet and it turned out well and she did good all the way besides a few clouds of smoke and a nasty smell coming and going so watch this space now for many updates with many pictures....

also a random picture i took in macdonalds carpark with martin ( I_AM_ME )

Post by: mk2 helper on 18 November 2011, 23:41
thaught its about time i did an update on this thread as a few things have happened and progress is being made...

to start with i'm out of road tax aswell as insurance now so i have plenty of time to do things that have been a long time coming. starting with the engine :)

to cut a long story short my engines coming out and another is going in but its no simple engine conversion from another car cuz lets face it that be too easy..

basically i'm building up a 2 litre 16v bike carb powered beastie and i have nearly everything i need now waiting for me just need to make an inlet manifold , finish cleaning up engine parts , jet my carbs and bolt it all together so here goes with some pictures...

to start with i'll be using a mk3 golf gti 8v engine block for the 2 litreness but no pic as it hasn't been delivered yet...

so that i get clearance for my many valves i've baught a set of second hand abf pistons from a mk3 valver
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P051111_1109_01.jpg)

as you can see there caked up with crap so thaught best to clean em up and check everything fine so...

also noticed all oil holes in the oil scraper rings were blocked so came up with an idea that did the trick
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P051111_1539.jpg)

and all cleaned up and back together..

then came the delivery of what i'm using to fuel the engine with. in the form of some yamaha R1 carburettor awsomeness!!!

and they'll be getting stripped down cleaned up and jetted accordingly

and a few days later came some more powerfull awsomeness being a mk2 gti 16v cylinder head  :D
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P111111_1339.jpg)

and some pics with the carbs infront of it cuz i can really
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P111111_1501_01.jpg)

and soon set to dis assembling the valver head to clean it up get it skimmed and re-seat all the valves .....

the head nerli stripped ...

3 out of 4 valves lapped and re-seated on cylinder 4
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P141111_1436_02.jpg)

a before and sfter shot
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P141111_1438_02.jpg)

and the bits i can do on the head are nerli done now then its getting sent off for a skim.

and today came a parcel  :D  in the form of a 4 branch stainless steel exhaust manifold
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P181111_1951.jpg)

and i then broke out the heat wrap and wrapped the manifold up nice before running out  :x
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/P181111_2156_01.jpg)

then after heat wrapping i realised it was a bad idea as the manifold will most probably need modifying as i've had to buy a mk2 golf 16v mani to fit the engine as they dont make them for the 16v scirocco as there so damn rare so the mani will prob need to be modified to fit with the 2 litre block being taller than my 1.8 aswell as havving an anti roll bar in the way or the zaust...

tahts about it for now really but i'm, sure they'le be more to come

not if i used the 2.0 8v pistons as they woul the valves but thats why i baught the abf pistons from the mk3 16v so put the 16v pistons and rods in the 2.0 8v block then all will be fine

yer i agree sam but i got things together now and funds back on track so i'm building her up just how i like it...

and to dom i'll be posting up a youtube vid when she's done then getting her set up and rolling roaded to get the best out of the carbs setup

another little update on the engine build...

finished reseating all the valves now so that job's done now then thaught its time i properly cleaned up the head so out came the degreaser and the use of a freinds sand blaster and the result is...

i was rather happy with the outcome and decided to blast the cam pulley aswell but no picture of that at the moment..

also fitted some new clocks into the rocco so i have the correct clocks in now for a start ( bye bye 120mph speedo and a clock ) so i now got the 140mph speedo it should have and a rev counter again

then took a randon pic of her raring to be tripped...

My brother had a GT2 and it was quick I had to fix the fuel tank for him its a weakness on the welding seem they tend to bubble and split watch out for it and dont try and weld it up LOL. You have to drop the axle just to get to it!
Getting rare I haven't seen one for about 3 years and that was a show!
Love to G60 one, but fear of killing myself!
The dash is pure class IMO!

i checked over the fuel filler when i went to collect the car and it was fine then and yer mine is rapid ino its not the quickest thing in the world but its had work done to it before i took ownership as it a verry hugh compresion engine asif its had some old school tuning decked block and skimmmed head mods maybe a cam as its running upto 14 bar compression a damn site faster than 'the book' says it should..

i liked the idea of g60 but i'de rather go carbs for now and been looking into bike carb turbo set-ups aswell.. would like to do it but not for a long time yet...

i love the wheels that are allready on her but i've picked these up for peanuts so i could easily sell them on after refurbing them...

and yes i'll be keeping the 13's still and if i decide to run these wheels i shall keep both sets and swap between the two depending on time of year and if/when i fancy a change.

standard rocco wheels are et38 i think and the 13" bbs im running atm are 13x6 et13 and they sit fine but are on 13mm spacers so et0

the porche rims are 15x7 and an offset of et23 and not %100 sure what size adaptors to get yet untill i see were the wheel sits from the face of the hub and depending on how m=much arch work i want to do

another update as i've pulled my finger out and got some more done to the rocco....

firsty i've baught myself a nice shiny rear strut brace ..

but shiny polished alluminium in the inside of my car just doesn't cut it for me so out came some more stickers

then got to some propper work and started on pulling out the engine . it didn't take long as the head was off and its a carb so wasn't loads of nasty wiring. besides not having an engine crain it went rather well

then out came the gearbox leaving a messy oily engine bay. so i started cleaning it up and this is how i left her 2dai

Post by: mk2 helper on 01 March 2012, 20:59
time for another update i think starting with the slight change of plan with the engine thats going back in...

still struggling to find a 2litre block within budget so for now the rebuilt 8v engines going back in so that i can get back on the road and driving again..

so basically i've stripped the 8v engine down checking over evrything and rebuilt it back up again with new headgasket and all other gaskets sealed up when needed. also fixed the webber carb from hell so may have less problems with that now and hoping that with the new head gasket will do the trick.. also painted up the engine block purely for looks...

then finnally finishes off cleaning up the engine bay and tidying up the wiring and i've only got one more thing to do there wich is remove the quickly slapped together bulkead repair from my clutch cable pulling through and do a propper job if it and fit a new steering column boot

also got myself a new steering wheel but want to sticker bomb the cheap looking chrome centre of it to brake it up abit.
and egnore the mess that has accumilated in the footwells

and to finish it off i'm fitting a new engine mount as my old one had the bolt seized inside it so need a new one there aswell as replacing the old fuel lines and i've made myself a single lamp 5 slat badgeless grille....

and my dog posing in the 2 pictures of the grille

WOW!!! five months since i've posted on here and done any work on the rocco :/

so havn't been able to work on ruby for a while due to circumstances but I'm back now and have started again with my build.

over this weekend i've dragged my engine out again to sort out my tired engine bay so friday the engine came out giving me room to clean things up.

so i started with the wire brush and got cleaning things up.

first was the radiator cowling so painted that up and the result speaks for its self
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/DSC00014.jpg)

then made a start degreasing and sanding the gearbox and i got as far as spraying one bit with the paint a baught then got put off doing the rest as the colour on the can was nothing like the colour it came out like so did no more of that .

so to get the stress off the wrong paint out of my mind i set about upgrading my rear brakes to something more substantial so here goes some disk brakes to replace the drums with.

then started on the engine bay grinding back all the rust bubbles and blemeshes and giving whats left a key for the paaint.

then on goes the primer.

then laid some colour down and thats about it so far untill i get onit tomorow and start on the next thing (http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/DSC00002.jpg)

dont spend allot of time at home where the car is but i've got a few little bits painted up nicely

wasnt happy with the look of the radiator having a nice freshly painted cowling and crappy fan motor sticking through it so i took it apart again and painted the motor.

before
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/555818_10151110040538973_1061404159_n.jpg)

then painted motor
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/578843_10151112639573973_1146068583_n.jpg)

then moved onto the gearbox cleaning it up and painting it so before
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/f.jpg)

then after
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/524259_10151112639958973_189468408_n.jpg)

and finnaly the starter motor got some tlc aswell as was looking verry ruf
before
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/380615_10151112783858973_1469512352_n.jpg)

then the finished product
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/487306_10151112784003973_1016164216_n.jpg)

well!!!! been a while since ive been on here lol.

thaught its about time i updated my build thread as its clearly been a while and its verry outdated now so here i am ruby's back on the road better than ever and lots has happened since last time.

so...

shes road legal and driving around again  yaaaay!!!   been a tough long jouney but we made it. i wont bore u all with a massiive write up just some pictures and explanantions on the way.

to start with the valver i had nearly got built up went bad  a leaky ( now rebuilt ) garage made for a verry water damaged engine so i decided to go back to the dark side and drag out the blown high compression carbed 8v. rebuilt with a lick of paint.

so shes on the road again  and since getting a new job i had a fully equipt workshop with a ramp making  so i set making up a new exhaust as couldnt afford a shiny off the shelf item so i decided to make my own and free up some lingering exhaust gasses that were slowing me down.

after this ive had a few issues with second hand untested gearbox's and such but finally got myself a good one and went out for a night seing people in hull and thaught ide give ruby a treat and put some nice expensive v-power in her. wich ended badly burning up my cylinder head and generally breaking things. so was time for a new head.

(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/1476243_10152133136213973_302663599_n_zpsd779fcde.jpg) (http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/ian_barker91/media/1476243_10152133136213973_302663599_n_zpsd779fcde.jpg.html)

decided it was time for an upgrade whilst i had her in pieces so i ditched the carb and went injection  for reliability a bit more economy and having a car that actually wants to start when its cold.

(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z328/ian_barker91/1472918_10152133818488973_597296698_n_zps76d30276.jpg) (http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/ian_barker91/media/1472918_10152133818488973_597296698_n_zps76d30276.jpg.html)

started her up and the ran a dream for all of around 30 seconds untill i noticed exhaust gasses bubling there way through the expansion tank

so another cylinder head this time a painted and cleaned up one was fitted and all was well again.

in between all of this changed the seats to some comfy leathers as the buckets were too much for this time of year

all that and a different set of wheels rolled and stretches wheel arches and more lows and here is how she stands now after another night out playing in hull and coming across an abandoned lorry trailor :)
