When I eventually used mine in winter mine were down to 2.7-3mm so not really a fair comparison. But I also typically run winter tyres in winter so I will be a bit more critical.

How'd you find life in the GR versus the Golf? I would love one but interior puts me off a bit, I do like the facelift interior though (possibly controversial).

Will, I have driven friends cars a few times. in many regards they are incredible, you can notice the diff settings and are real advancement over prior '90's 4x4 rally homologation road cars, they really ecourage you to push on!

They do however have 2 drawbacks for me,,, too small as "the" sensible car for my needs, I already have too many impractical toy cars and the other issue is much the same as prior Japanese 4x4 cars of this type, amazing when you push on with high limits, when you are pootling around you are in a fairly low rent Japanese car interior.

I agree with you, the new dash looks to be a chracterful improvement.

The next generation is available to order online next month, I am hearing from £40k based on € pricing?
