It doesn't align with a MY change...

I've still got an argument in mid flight with VW UK that I've not posted about on here, but will do as soon as I get some sensible answers, at the moment its still brewing

How did you manage to code it and how on earth did you overcome SFD to do it?

well I know how to activate the maps on the dashboard but you need to unlock the 5F control unit and then code with either Vcds or OBD11.
Only some of the control units are Sfd protected like the Brakes, Central Electrics, Gateway, Infotainment and Part of the dashboard.

I've never tried the laptimer....can try it later if you like.

Thats no problem. I see there is a setting in the long coding of the HUD to enable it.
