i'm just not sure on how extensive/expensive i'm going to do the body.

Carry on with how immaculate you are taking everything at the moment, screw how long it takes! Thins thing is gonna be beyond clean when it's done, and although I would love to see it finished, I also want to see it be the best it can be regardless of how long it takes :)
