hi. just got back from an excellent day out at cadwell in the new camo golf!
it chucked it down all day which was a bit of a downer but the car performed fantastically. there were only about 20 cars there too so there was plenty of track for everyone. sympathies go out to a guy in a lancia delta integrale - dont know what happened but very early on it was back on the trailer with lots of panel damage.
both of my mates put the golf on the grass - i just managed to keep it on the track despite a very hairy moment through hall bends.
Rain and failing light stopped play early (10 past 3 sadly) but had a fantastic day and a great end to my birthday weekend!
i'll post a few pics soon

sounds like you had fun! i hope to be doing some trackdays next year
at least the rain kept the tyre wear down
-
true! i'd have happily swapped tyre tread for grip! was a little hairy at times. my mate took a few pics too. here's a couple. he's only given ones of me at the min though! i'll post some of the others if i get any. there were a couple of really nice e30 m3's there.

glad you enjoyed it mate

Looks awesome - Cracking idea for a birthday treat!
I need to grow some balls and get myself out there. I live near Castle Coombe, but I've heard that there a lot of kn#bs on the track in saxos etc. that can ruin your day.
-
never been there myself but i think the general trackday thing is that if someone is being a nob, tell an organizer and they'll deal with it. you do get some nobs who think its their track but on the hole people are friendly. at the end of the day there's thousands of nobs on the road. at least at a trackday you have all paid for the priveledge of using the track. most nobs dont want to pay so stay on the roads if that makes sense.
you dont need balls either. start steady and build up. if you can afford it, get some tuition.
doing trackdays has changed me, even at the level i do it at. i no longer drive like a cok on the roads. once you have driven "fast" on a track you realise you aint driving fast on the road and it has slowed me down. i save it all for the track now!

As standard one was pictured on the cover of a magazine spinning off a track at the launch, as it didn't handle for toffee and the other went on the cover of a different issue of the same magazine as a lemon with the manufacturer's badge stuck on it.
Anyone know the magazine and which car was which?

This is so true, it definately slows you down on the road. i no longer drive like a bellend on the road!
