Finally got around to replacing the seal on the rear speakers which was causing water build up on the sills. This is how badly the seal was on both speakers

*PIC*

I seem to get a tiny bit of white mould on the rear seats and condensation on the inside of the windscreen (nightmare when it freezes, might eventually get a car that doesn't get ice on the inside!). I assume the speaker surround is the most common/first place to check as I've heard it mentioned quite a few times with leaks

Does a leaking rear speaker seal wet the carpets?

It sure does, especially after heavy rain and if the seal has been perished for a while

Took out the Volkswagen All In 2 Year Service plan for 29.99 a month.

Seems like a good deal to me 👍👍👍

Car is not long out of warranty and has 6300 miles on it.

Previous to my GTI, I was doing more miles in a year than I have done to date in my GTI.
Change of job role and the benefits of home working👍

Plus, more people are environmentally aware these days.

I don’t use my car on short trips (e.g. round trip of 6-7 miles or so) unless I have anything bulky or heavy I need to transport or collect; I’ll walk which is better for me and for the environment .

Over the last 4-5 years my annual mileage has pretty much halved.
