Replaced my knackered front tyres which came with the car for some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6s. Tyre fitter informed me that Falkens which were taken off were not far off budget tyres so I am hoping I see a difference. Expensive day :)

Over the years I have looked at one or two GTIs sitting on crap tyres down to the limit.
I conclude that in most cases these are lease cars or some sort or “company cars”.
Wouldn’t touch any of them with a barge pole.
I think that tyres are the most eloquent indicator of how much care the former owner/driver had taken care of the car. That matters with a GTI!

Agnews I take it?
Did they change the plugs with it being a major but with it on a low mileage?

Yep Agnews, they did the plugs, air and cabin filter. The video they sent was showing a good bit of surface rust underneath on the suspension, was always the case because it lived by the sea previously, so I’ll need to get it on a ramp and sort it out.

Totally agree, never skimp on tyres, decent matching tyres are a great barometer of how a car is cared for.
