Just watched an old Top Gear on Dave, Clarkson driving the GTI PP MK7, unsurprisingly, he loved it - ISTR he used to have one.

He did indeed have one.

He did a road test in it on the grand tour against James May's i3. S1E13.

I seem to remember a test against a BMW M135i

The BMW got slated because he almost crashed it. But it was his fault for going too fast in the wet.

I fancy an M140i next.

I would probably not consider a M135i. I had a late 335i with the same engine and although it sounded good it didn't impress me that much.

Invested in a pair of genuine VW front rubber mats. Rarely ever have anyone in the back so didn't bother with those. Only around £55 delivered which seemed reasonable.

I keep my VW front rubber mats in the car all year round as I don’t find the durability of VW’s carpet mats to be very good. I also rarely carry back seat passengers, so didn’t bother with rubber mats in the rear.

Quality rubber floor mats are the way to go.
However on a 3 door which rarely carries a rear passenger, I have unused matching rubber mats in the rear, as the mismatch would drive me nuts! :)
