Looking at aftermarket wheels is making regret getting Pretorias now... You can't go wrong with any of the current BBS range for the Mk7 at the minute in my opinion. That being said the Vossen HF-2's look fantastic on the mk8 and I think they'd suit the mk7.5 really well as well, but they're too expensive for my liking.

Andrew Chapple (Volkswizard) had 19” Vosssn HF-2’s in gunmetal fitted to his Reflex Silver mk8 Golf GTI Clubsport to replace the standard 18” Richmond alloys.

The general feeling of contributors on the mk8 forum board that commented on them was that they weren’t that keen on them. But hey, we’re all different and we don’t all like the same things. I think they’re an improvement on the standard OEM 18” diamond cut Richmond’s, I really like the colour of the ones that Volkswizard had fitted to his car, but I think the design is a bit too fussy and not the easiest to clean.

Those look a bit OTT to me... Or on volkswizard's car.

I'd pick something simpler, but clearly they don't make them not to sell them so some people like them!

That is Andrew's Clubsport I posted, I wouldn't be a fan of the Mk8 Clubsport as I think it's quite boring looking compared to the Mk8 standard GTI, so I think it takes the fairly unrestrained Vossen's to set the car off.

I'd like to I wouldn't want to be cleaning them, but honestly the Mk7 Santiagos were the worst wheel I've ever cleaned for intricate areas and my dad has BBS RS'!

Those look a bit OTT to me... Or on volkswizard's car.

I'd pick something simpler, but clearly they don't make them not to sell them so some people like them!

I'd agree with you if it weren't for the 19in Adelaide alloy option on the mk8, which to my eye are equal if not more OTT than the Vossen's, as long as no one has Miltons I'd be quite happy

Lol why would I? Not my car or my wheels  I'm actually tempted to either refurb my Pretorias or buy another set of BBS CI-R... not fussed on the graphite colour.

Yes, I don't have much love for the Adelaides I have on my Mk8. It was just the lesser of two evils when I bought the car.

Quite frankly, I didn't even want 19's!

I don't think they are quite as bad as those Vossens but its pretty close!

No love here for those Vossens . I'd go as far as to say I prefer the Richmonds.

Now that is harsh, but at the same time more than fair! :)

At least with the Richmonds you sill have the potential and optimism of an improvement, rather than abject failure.

For the mk8 Estoril's or BBS CI-R's (Again) would be my choices, the factory options were pretty poor in my opinion including the Ed45 alloys. But I'll just leave this here as a reminder that there are much much worse alloys out there than those discussed.
