Finally got around to cleaning up the black plastic pillar trim and boot spoiler side pieces, the almost "grey" look from all the scuffing and swirls was too much of an eye sore to bear any longer.

It's good enough for now after cleaning it up by hand with some meguiars plastx

22months since picking her up new, and now with 17k of my driving miles on the clock...

The car was showing 19 days until an oil change and 29 days until an inspection, so I gave it its first big service.

Iv've recently moved house, so I tried my new nearest dealer. It was an effortless and pleasant experience with Gatwick Volkswagen. All booked online with VW, confirmation via text and in the VW app, I turned up at 8am and it was all done and dusted in just over an hour, whilst I waited and did some work in the dedicated roped off COVID clean waiting area in their showroom.

All covered by the service pack I got thrown in with the car, as is the next service when that comes around.

:)

SOLD March 2021
2019 GTI Performance, 5DR, DSG - Isaac Blue, Leather, Pan Roof, 19" Brescias, DCC, Dynaudio, Rear Camera, Keyless, Electric Memory Driver Seat.

You must be local to me - that’s my local dealer (like 5 minute drive away). I’ve never had any issues with their servicing but equally I’ve never bought a car from them.

Likewise, I have used them for the last 10 years as I live in Crawley, mostly good experience with both Golfs (GTI and R) and my Touran.

I found out why the auto-dimming for my rear view mirror has been so poor lately.

You have to actually turn it on, then it works great.

Had my major service yesterday + brake fluid change, quite painless although had to leave the car for the day as they were also looking at a couple of warranty claims:

Rear driver door leaking onto the sill and into car - Fixed under warranty (seems they might have done both door speaker seals)
Lumbar support foam on driver seat disintegrating - Not fixed (they said it happens) I have challenged them on that and they will get back to me, should not happen on a 3 year old car!
General rumbling - They had a check and and whilst could hear it on uneven roads could not find anything wrong, so gave it a good greasing!

Great new though, they price matched the local independent saving me £70

Oh and Mot a couple of days earlier - no failures

That was a rather opportunist dealer you dealt with. Fixed price diagnosis should be £60 not £150. They should also price match if it's a genuine VW specialist
