TBH I much preferred the patterned effect trim (as shown in the images above), that I had on both my GTD’s before the current GTI.

The piano black on the GTI is a fingerprint and scratch magnet.

Oh is the mk7.5 GTI piano black too? They got rid of the patterned effect? If so that means there won't be a matching fascia... Hmm... Going to end up wrapping the whole dash, haha.

Just filled up with V-Power, thought i'd share with you a photo of what Google Maps looks like on the new screen.
Much better than the other screen and this still isn't on full brightness either...

I assume that is running off a phone via CarPlay/android auto? If not please can you advise how you managed to get it running Google Maps?

You assume correctly Sir, standard Android Auto running off my phone. I mostly use Waze but Google Maps does look good.  :cool:

Ordered some Brooklyn's.

Just got to wait for them to arrive from Germany.

The Brooklyn’s are the 17” powder coated alloys that were the standard wheels fitted to the mk7 GTI in some (possibly all?) European markets. They’re a 7.5J x 17” wheel with an offset of ET49 and are quite similar in style to the diamond cut 18” Austin’s that were the standard wheels on UK spec mk7 GTI’s.

2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

Looking forwards to seeing pictures of the Brooklyn's on the car. I'm old school when it comes to wheels much prefer silver to black.

Got my footrest delivered today as well as a smarter 12v replacement socket, both installed in seconds, footrest fit like a glove, was expecting to have to mess with it a bit to make it fit as per some other peoples comments but it was no trouble.

I wonder if there is a slight difference in the DSG and manual footrests which means the manual requires no fettling. Mine definitely did and I see how Booth11 had cut the lugs on his.
