Just filled up with V-Power, thought i'd share with you a photo of what Google Maps looks like on the new screen.
Much better than the other screen and this still isn't on full brightness either...

Looks cracking that, massive improvement as the old-style screen does make the Mk7 look dated.

Just need a nice genuine footrest now as noticed you've got the plastic OEM one  👀

Interesting... How do they fit then, over the top or replace completely?

The part took four days to arrive after ordering from the Skoda website in the Czech Republic. It is the same part as Ali Express, slightly more expensive but quick delivery.  If you look on the Mk7 How to Guides,  Booth 11 has posted a very helpful series of photos on how to fit. I followed these and had it fitted in 15 minutes after shortening the lugs on it with a dremel. A simple mod. The pic shows the result. 👍

I bought the screen and surround from a guy on a Golf R parts forum, he'd upgraded it with brand new from VW but was trading his car so swapped it back to stock. The screens are easy to find as they're common to a few models of VW, it's the surround that is hard to find used. You just need to keep searching and get lucky or buy new.

Like here for a screen:

and here for the surround:

You must have MIB2 and a 6.5 inch screen to start with to have the right resolution, then it's a straight swap. Doesn't work if you're on MIB1. 2016 was change over year I believe so all clubsports should be fine for example, you also need Car-Net for full function with the APP button going to Android Auto or Car Play.

Looks great! Very interested. Question about the plastic surround- is the rest of your dash not the carbon fibre-ish sort of pattern that's on GTIs?

Like this:

Or is it all black on the Clubsport?

The dash and centre console are all piano black on a CS, I matched like for like with the surround.

Ah thought as much. In that case, I'm going to have to track down the probably even harder to find standard GTI surround (or sod it and just have piano black in one section)

It's out there somewhere, you just need to find the right part #.
