I’ve had numerous remaps and always considered their main benefit was ease of performance without needing to drive hard so I’m another in the mechanical sympathy camp.

In fact I’ve had my TCR around seven months and still haven’t even tried launch control!
God I’m boring!

Thanks for the cable tie bonnet release link. Cable ties added this morning to the top and bottom of the junction box. As had been previously mentioned, the fit in the middle is very tight and I did not have anything plastic that was strong enough to pries open a little

Getting the wife's Polo GTI+ serviced today at Pulman Durham. They have a MK8 Golf in...hideous front end (those headlights), the bonnet doesn't look as low as the pics suggest. The bolt on ipad infotainment looks crap.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Where did you order the damper from. Had a quick look, but nowhere obvious.

Updated the sat nav maps on the Discover media which was fairly straight forward and free. Here’s the starting link.

Preparing the car for a deep interior clean, I decided to remove as many items as possible and purely in the interest of science decided to weigh them all and then take the car for a quick blast on my favourite loop. Surprised the total weight for all items was 53 kg which equates to approx 4% of total weigh based on my 3 door manual car with belvedere wheels.

Stripping the car was easy and took around 10 mins.

Spare wheel 14.3
Rear upper seat main section 15.0
Rear upper seat other 5.8
Seat bench 6.8
Jack and bits 4.4
Boot floor 3.0
Dynaudio 2.3
Parcel shelf 1.3

Driving impressions, a lot more noise was transmitted into the cabin. Car seemed a bit more responsive, especially in 4th gear for some reason. Most noticeable, the ride was more jiggly, presume due to the weight removed from the rear upsetting the standard suspension rates, as the CS is usually super smooth.

Will take it out again for an extended drive later in the week. Definitely worth doing in preparation for a track day.
