hi, where did you get this done? me being in a wheelchair would make this a very good add on as i could finally get into the boot...lol :)

I’m surprised it’s never been an option on UK MK7’s
The new 1 series has it as an option so maybe the mk8 will. It must be a pretty standard feature of SUV’s and the Evoque in the house opposite me has it.

Parked up in the Metrocentre today and saw the car tax avoidance team in full swing, a van full of clamps. There was a metallic grey 2014 GTD being clamped - no-one's here was it?

Puzzlingly, I also saw a 19 plate BMW X5 clamped. How could a car so new be out of tax? The only reasoning for it I could come up with is if it is on at least it's second owner already (sick of it after 4 months?), bought in a private sale from the first owner who got a VED refund for the remainder of their year and the new owner didn't get it taxed. Seen loads of untaxed cars clamped in Tyneside over the last 3 months - the DVLA must be getting sh!t-hot on the issue.

I was once a DVLA fugitive for 6 weeks, I naively thought that having an Audi A1 1.6TDI with £0 VED meant that you did not have to apply to DVLA to pay your £0 for the year, every year.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

That has reminded me that I haven't told my insurance about the number plate change on the new vehicle yet.

That happened on my wife's car, completely forgot to tell them so at renewal they didn't offer a renewal price as presumably the car no longer existed!

VW used to fit an inlet manifold cover but they stopped probably to save a few €s. I've one on mine and it does tidy things up.
