GTi in for a service, so I have the dealers 17 plate Golf TDi SE.

What a difference, 60mpg so far, but is not for me, usually I like driving a variety of cars and enjoy keeping a lower powered car in it's narrow power band.
However in this case, I have no interest in driving it any further than I have to, much to my surprise.

If you drove this TDi and then  GTi, I am sure they would sell a lot more GTi than they do.

Not today but yesterday. Booked car in to repair the front end from pheasant suicide and also getting 1st service and a couple of warranty jobs done (rattly exhaust, rattly sunvisor on passenger side, couple of door trims).
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

My wife managed to do this to her new car the other day
The damage is about half a cm square.
Any ideas on the best approach to getting it repaired?

@kalimon if you need to talk to a body shop, try road and race in Little Hulton, very highly rated

I would get a decent smart repair guy to take a look.
2017 GTi Clubsport arrived June 2017
2007 Shadow Blue GTi, sold on after 10 years ownership

Gave it a wash and quick wax.

Every time you post up a pic the car just seems to be shinier and shinier!

Would a really good polish and then a touch up kit not hide the worst of it?
I'd hate to spend hundreds on a repair and then have it happen again to the same panel, which would be just my luck.

Then buy some 20" wheels for the proper badass look which will immediately take your eyes away from the battle scar!

Touch it in with the touch up paint, layer it allowing each layer to dry and dont worry if it builds above the rest of the paintwork then use a cutting pad and detail that area (I use a professional detailer who measure paint depth etc before hand) . Will take your eye off it and from a few feet away it will dissapear. Of course if you crouch down next to the car and stare at that area it will still be a bit noticeable. Ive done it a few times now and its works ok.

If it was my car, all that would have already been done
I'm regretting not buying a DA polisher when I was flush and in the money wasting mood but that's going to have to wait now.
I will buy a touch up kit though

My GTI spent two days with the local dealer having the nearside headlight replaced, on account of the headlight only working when it felt like it.  I dread to think what it would have cost had it not been under warranty.  I had a Polo as a courtesy car, and it just kept reminding me how good the GTI is.

Anyway, it's back now.  I asked for a VW Connect plug as well, which they gave me FOC, so I have that to play with.  I had intended to go for a drive this morning to try it out, but as soon as I left home the rain started, so I just did a 20-mile loop around part of the New Forest (blanket 40mph speed limit to protect the dozy wildlife and even dozier cyclists), so although I can confirm that it works, I want to try it on some proper roads.

The car is now filthy, and I can't clean it as I have a rather painful right shoulder.  FML.
