Your repaired R looks good, the nearside rear wing seems to show a strong "orange peel" effect in the paint, maybe it's the lighting?

I am sure you will get a far better idea on the repair once you have detailed the car.

It will match the rest of the car then. I think VW's are terrible for orange peel.

Its looking great Bec. Pleased for you its all turned out okay.

The lightning emphasis it but the orange peel on the resprayed wing is the same level as previously and matches the rest of the car.  Orange Peel is the curse of a VW and whilst present on most colours, is at its most noticeable on DBP.  If you were to look through my Flick pics there are several close up pics of panels which clearly show orange peel to the same degree, so in that respect the repair is as per the factory.

I have learned to embrace the orange peel, though I have invested in the Meguairs Microfibre Correction DA pad and polish system which has been shown to have a 'levelling' effect on orange peel.  So when I am able to fit in my next full detail and DA session I will be closely looking to see if it does make any noticeable difference.

Thanks Stevie.  Spot on with the orange peel comment.  It would have looked wrong if it didn't have any.  You either have it or you don't but if you do, you want the car to be the same all over.

Great stuff Rebecca! It does look a bit orange-peely, but I can also confirm that the lapiz blue factory paint is like that too.

Did you have to get the tyre changed too? That's a new tyre anyway by the looks of it.
