I thought it might be that.
Does it not come with one from the factory or is that just a fancy one?

Not yet fitted, but this turned up today

What is it or am I being stupid?

It's a dead pedal (footrest) cover, but you know that now.

Factory one is plain grey plastic affair.  Very dull and always looks out of place next to the pedals.  Will fit it this weekend hopefully.

@Sootchucker - yours looks excellent.   Btw, my R is DSG.

The vanity of you DSG owners knows no bounds
It is an improvement though.

You've got to do something with your left foot in a DSG and as there's a huge gap to the left of the brake pedal there really needs to be something like this fitted to fill the void. In a LHD Golf you get a footrest.

As a manual owner I'm not really bothered about fitting one of these covers but I do like them and they will look good once lit up by the footwell lights.

You can fit one on a manual I'm sure.  Cheap and better than oem. DSG is by the by ;-)

Yeah it will look good with the blue footwells and my new mats.  The footwells of my R are looking rather dashing now - better turned out than me, lol.

It never stops. There's always something you just "have to have".  If you do order from that website - it gets shipped from China and takes a while to arrive.  Just a heads up.
