I finally got my flat battery attended to and decided to take the GTI for a 4AM spin to get some charge in the cells.
I know the GTI lives completely in the shadow of the R now but 'damn', the GTI is still a mighty good car on a cold damp dark morning.
Damn it's good.
Damn!

I've been a busy bunny Fraulein Boothypoohs or I would.
Mind you if I did I'd only get bored of it and feel the urge to join you 'common as muck' 7R types!

Hope all is well at home for you [bunchofflowers smiley]

The GTI is a mighty machine. The "giveaway" cheap R's have just stolen it's thunder for the time being.
Current - MK7 Golf GTI - Tornado Red, 5 Door, DSG, Performance Pack, Dynamic Chasis Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Discover Navigation, Dynaudio.

On Order - MK7 Golf R - Pearlescent Black, 3 Door, DSG, Vienna Leather, Discover Nav Pro, Rear View Camera, High Beam Assist, Keyless Entry, Dynaudio (Tech Pack)

All gone.

Now;

MK7 Golf R - Lapiz Blue, 5 Door, DSG, Carbon Nappa, Discover Nav Pro.

Scuffed my front left rim. Some plonk at a two lane roundabout decides to pull in to my lane I swerve to avoid him and I go over the curb but in doing so scuff the outside of my rim badly. I was in a rush so I didn't stop until I get to the petrol station thinking tyre has taken the brunt of the force. Lo and behold a 3 inch scuff. Not impressed!! Now I need to find a diamond cut alloy repair specialist any one know of one in or around birmingham.

the wheel specialist on tyburn road is the best ones ive ever been too when i used to change the colour of my alloys on my leon. i know they do diamond cutting too but had no experience of it. bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

Also today, dropped the car off at the garage as it looks like when they built the drivers door they did it on a dark friday afternoon, the garage admits it looks crap and creaks and are rebuilding it for me under warranty. So todays courtesy car is a new passat estate (old model actually) but another tdi dsg, this one i like better than the scirocco tho, maybe because its not trying to be sporty. lovely comfy barge  :cool:
