Hope Kubica has a speedy recovery, he's a determine bloke so I'm sure he'll be back sooner than expected.
The question is, who will they replace him with? None of the reserve drivers are really up to the task and Petrov as primary driver doesn't exactly spell massive points. Heidfeld maybe?

I think they'll go for Senna eventually.

I think he'll be good in a competitive car, and the Senna helmet, with the Senna lotus livery will be epic.

Senna isn't up to the job at this level........ yet!
Heidfeld would be a good solid points scorer and maybe having a driver nearer his own level would give Petrov a boost too.

looking at the course I am surprised that there weren't more crashes tbh.. looked very dangerous.. no room for error

Place your bets place your bets!

Who will Renault choose?

I'd like to see Senna but I think they'll go for Heidfield as he has KERS and Pirelli experience.

Senna isn't the complete product yet, Heidfeld has more chance of bringing in regular points and that's what Renault will be after....

Simulation of Kubica's crash. If it hadn't been for the gap in the barrier he would have come off lightly, with probably just a scratch on the car and a bent bumper.

Not sure how accurate that simulation is. He crashed into a church wall and then re-bounded into the post??

No. According to the co driver, the car hit the barrier and pushed it towards the outside. The car then slid along the barrier until it met the following barrier which was a separate barrier. Because the barrier they were sliding along had been pushed back, they met the other barrier with the middle of the car, towards Kubica's side.

If that barrier had been one long one rather than multiple individual barriers, Kubica would have just slid along the whole length of the barrier.
