I've replied to your other thread. Basically yes it does, but it does wear away, and obviously bird crap will eat away at it very quickly indeed.

to add to what chris has said, yes it will protect but only to a point as bird crap is high in lime and will burn through like acid, and as chris said it will do it very quickly, in some cases a matter of hours.
you can only stunt the process by layering with a sealant and a wax like collinite 845 which will offer good protection but no gaurentees.

in all fairness, yes bird sh!t isnt good, and will eat away at goodness in your pointwork, but it wont exactly corrode straight through your paint and metalwork, lol

last night when i went to the car after work, (yes a parked under a tree) i noticed a black tar like birdsh!t patch on my wing (wtf did the bird eat?) anyway today, sprayed some megs ultimate quik detailer on it, it came straight off, nothing to worry about!!!

knowone has said it will burn straight through but it will etch into clearcotes, how quickly depends on what the bird has eaten etc, if your car is well protected then you should be fine but as i said it doesnt garauntee anything as other factors are involved, my mates s3 had on there for two hours and it etched the clearcote and that had protection on it.
