Title: Stuck tailgate

Help
Boot closed and button will not open it
Any clues ?
Looking on inside button does not touch the metal rod - could it be jammed or the rod stuck
New to this so apologies if terminology not exact

Hi fella,
If not yet sussed out you will have to climb into rear seats of car, pull the seat backs forward so you can enter the boot.
Use a torch here and pull the plastic panel off and release the boot latch from the inside, it is the steel rod that runs from boot catch up to the boot lock open. 9/10 it needs lubricated to free it up again. Have had too do this a few times and my car has been garaged.
