Just purchased a 2005 VW Golf GT TDi DSG 5 door (purchased yesterday). I drove the car home from Hertfordshire to S Wales yesterday - 140 mile return trip. My partner and I went to purchase the car and he drove behind me on our return home and notice the black puffs of diesel omitting every now and again. Is this normal?
Secondly, I hear a clicking noise as if there is a clicking rattle coming from the inside dash area as I drive.
I have been told by the previous owner to carry oil around as a light will come up on the dash and just to top up in between services, also if the coolant wants topping up to add tap water than add colant mixture to top up. Is this correct or is it best to get coolant from the VW dealership or use distilled water please?
The car had a service in March 2010 and new mot same time - full service vw history - all paperwork.
