After the great success of the 2 recent Forge TIP G/B's, I was wondering what kind of interest the above kit would guage?? :smiley:
They are available in blue, black & red & also for both the 150 & 180 bhp 1.8T's. 8)

So, anything around the £50 mark suits me fine! :D

With the Forge FMIC kit, you will definitely only need 4 out of the 5 pieces (not the large 'S' shape bit). I'm not sure about the large, short, straight piece, though. Saying that, I'm sure you could sell the 1 or 2 pieces on for £20-25 maybe?? :undecided:

the turbo to intercooler joins are a small elbow off the inlet, then a small joiner for the pancake pipe to intercooler

I ned to back out of this as i have had to get the hoses. Major issues with backfire from the car over fueling due to the at,ospheric dump valve. The original owner of the car had lost the recirc pipe

I think, if I'm not very much mistaken, that the standard jobbies use Jubilees for this kit. Actually, the IC pipes do, I can't remember what the top pipes use, off the top of my head. ;)

So are these hoses just for show really, or have any performance benefits?

They replace most of the turbo - intercooler - throttle body hoses. They are less likely to collapse under pressure and look nice too. Also your old hoses may be starting to split etc so it's more of a piece of mind mod rather than getting extra horses directly from replacing them :wink:
I don't think there is a replacement for the rigid pipe to pancake pipe included in the kit though is there? Notieced this when changing the turbo yesterday.?

Not if you're lucky & the lower jubilee clip screw is facing up towards you. I had to take that pipe off recently to get the large washer bottle in. ;)

Fitted the 3 top hoses, the turbo to rigid pipe is a bit of a pain! Had to push it on over the stopper bit on the rigid pipe for it to fit without kinking :wink:
Will do the intercooler and throttle body pipe on saturday :wink:

Yep thats pretty awkward!. It fit's loosly ontot eht urbo but is a very snugg fit on the rigid pipe. I lubed it up a bit with wd40 then got the turbo end on loose. I had to push the rigid pipe end on furth than the stopper ring bit to get it to fit without kinking though.
Awkard as feck to be honest but it does go on afterwards!

Nah sorry mate, did it late last night after work before it got dark, so was in a bit of a rush!
You just need to wiggle it round untill both connections are on. I found i had to almost bend it in half to get both sides on then pull the rigid pipe side up as far as i could get it so it pretty much touched the small pipe connection which is past the stopper ring bit.

OEM hose must just be more flexible?
Inlet and IC hose tomorrow, along with painting brake disc surrounds/spacers black.
Just been touching up my spruced up engine cover, gotta rmemebr to clean throttle body at the same time as IC pipes. !
Then i'm all set for the RR day i think..

Mine was probably about 20mm longer than the OEM item - In fact, i've still got the tiniest of kinks left in the new Forge, but I don't think that's going to harm it, TBH (I hope, lol).

i tried againt today to fit the b!tch but had no luck (lots of c & b's flying round)! going have 1 more go tomoz!

Yes, the air was quite blue in my work car park yesterday, LOL! :D
God only knows why Forge didn't flare the one end out more! :angry:
ps. I used a bit of brake pad paste to pursuade it on, LOL. :D
pps. Don't cut it until you've measured it against your own standard hose, folks. ;)

Did all mine today. Took longer than i thought bit tricky.
Put it all back together bumper on ect. Drove down the road opened it up a bit in second and loud hisss and no power :angry: :grin:
Took off the bumper again to find the bottom hose had come off - i prob didn't tighten it enough TBH :laugh:
All done now and i can notice the difference as you say sam bit louder when to boot it :evil:

I did 2 & 5 this afternoon, if you release the intercooler you get enough play to get them on relativly easily

i found getting if over the throttle body the hardest part. everytime i pushes a bit on another part wasnt over the lip, it was BOLLOX!!! it still aint even on properly i opened the bonnet today and the jubilee clip had slipped off and it has moved down a lottle bit. but i sprayed some WD-40 on the jubilee clip and made it really reall tight after pushing the hose on as far as possible lol
